Our Unique Polymer Brush Chemistry
It is all about the surface. All interactions between materials happen through the surface of a material. Hence, controlling the surface properties is controlling the material properties. That means, that if we can change the way a surface of material behaves, we have the power to create new solutions.
In RadiSurf we have developed unique chemistry to create coatings of polymer brushes on surfaces. Polymer chains – or plastic chains if you like – that are chemically attached to a surface. We actually grow these polymer chains from the surface. And by controlling the properties of plastic chains, we can control the surface properties.

We Solve Your Problems Through Co-Development
All of our solutions are adapted to our customer’s unique needs. Hence, we have a standardized project model designed for fast product development and validation. We work tightly with our customers to make sure that our solutions fit exactly their needs. That means needs for performance, cost, production conditions, logistics, etc.
RadiBond Chemistry Hitting the Market
Our most developed solution is what we call RadiBond Welding Primer. It is a coating of polymer brushes on materials like metal, glass or ceramics. It allows you to weld plastic onto a metal. Yes, welding the plastic onto the metal and get it to stick. This solution has been developed in tight collaboration with customers who had an urgent need for this. We have adapted our polymer brush chemistry to match their needs. Our RadiBond Primer system is now able to bond more than 11 plastic materials – including high end and difficult materials to bond like PEEK, PPS, and PVDF. And the chemistry is now so mature, that we expect to able to ship the coating chemistry for use directly in our customer’s facilities by Q2 2020.
